Your words have power—more power than you might realize. You’ve seen it. You’ve felt it. A single word can build someone up or tear them down. It can give life or bring destruction. As men, we don’t get the luxury of speaking carelessly. Our words carry weight, and we need to own that.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Think about the last time someone’s words cut you down. You probably still remember it, don’t you? Now think about a time when someone’s words lifted you up. That’s the kind of power we’re talking about. Every time you open your mouth, you’re making a choice—are you going to build up, or are you going to tear down? It’s easy to be careless, but it takes a real man to speak with intention.
If you’re the kind of guy who shoots his mouth off without thinking, it’s time to tighten it up. Stop using your words to tear people down or inflate your own ego. Start speaking with purpose. Speak truth, but do it in a way that builds others up, not just to prove you’re right. The world has enough men who talk a big game but have nothing to back it up. Don’t be one of them.
Your words have the power to change the atmosphere of your home, your workplace, and your community. They can bring life where there’s death, hope where there’s despair, and healing where there’s hurt. But you’ve got to be intentional. Don’t let your words be careless or destructive. Choose to be a man who speaks life, who speaks truth, and who leads with the power of his voice. Because when you do, you’re not just making noise—you’re making a difference.
Blessing to you,
Eli
